In case you’d like to transfer a domain name from one domain registrar to another, you will need a unique transfer authorization code, which may be called by different names – an EPP key, an AuthInfo code, a domain name password, etc. All these names denote the same thing – a code that the domain owner obtains from the present registrar and provides to the new one upon ordering. Without a genuine code, a domain transfer cannot be initiated and this is one of the protection mechanisms against unsolicited transfer attempts used with all gTLD and with most ccTLD extensions. For even greater security, the code comprises of digits and/or special symbols and is case-sensitive, so in case you wish to transfer one of your domains, you have to provide the new domain registrar with the correct code.

EPP Transfer Protection in Shared Hosting

In case you have a domain name registered through our company and you have a shared hosting account with us, getting its EPP transfer code is unbelievably easy. You will not have to switch between different admin panels, as you can administer all your domain names via the exact same Hepsia hosting Control Panel, which is used to manage your web hosting account. You’ll see all existing domain names as soon as you log in and to the right of the domain names whose extensions require an EPP transfer code in order to be transferred away, you will notice a mini EPP icon. All it takes to obtain that code is to click on the icon. The code is always sent to the domain registrant’s email account, so if the one that you specified initially is not valid anymore, you can edit it with several clicks of the mouse from the same section.

EPP Transfer Protection in Semi-dedicated Servers

If you register a domain name under a semi-dedicated server account with our company, you will be able to get its EPP transfer code with just one click of the mouse, if you decide to transfer it to a different registrar company. All it takes to achieve that is to sign into your Hepsia Control Panel, to go to the Registered Domains section and to click the EPP button, which will be on the right-hand side of the domain name. Of course, such a button will be available only if the particular Top-Level Domain extension supports transfers with an EPP transfer code. Within one minute, an email that includes the code will be sent to the domain registrant’s mailbox associated with that domain. You can update the latter via the same Control Panel section – if the one that’s presently listed in the WHOIS details isn’t a valid one. As the change will take effect without delay, you can request the EPP code right after that.
